TWICKENHAM, England - Organizers of the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England are planning to use the Olympic Stadium in London as one of the venues for the competition.
There are still uncertainties over who the tenants of the 80,000-seater stadium will be after the London Games and whether the capacity will be reduced.
But Ross Young, chief operating officer of the World Cup's organizing committee, said Monday that "you would be mad not to include it as part of your thinking" as England looks to sell nearly 3 million tickets for the country's next major sporting event.
Tournament organizers are seeking to feed off the success of the London Olympics, with newly appointed IRB chief executive Brett Gosper saying "it's putting the right kind of pressure on us."
